TravelSmart Strikes a Chord at Harold Bishop Elementary
Grade 5 students from Harold Bishop Elementary were so inspired by what they learned from the TravelSmart to School Program, they wrote a TravelSmart themed musical and performed it to their school. Their musical featured two rap songs, click below to hear the students’ songs:

Since 2009, the TravelSmart to School program has been delivered to 18 schools in Metro Vancouver.
The TravelSmart to School Program (TStS Program) uses a student leadership model to educate students about the impacts of transportation and supports them in making healthy, safe and sustainable transportation options such as walking, cycling, taking transit and ride-sharing.
The TStS Program was initiated in 2009 and has been delivered to 18 schools in Metro Vancouver.
All TravelSmart elementary schools are treated to the TravelSmart sponsored DreamRider Theatre Production of “Keep Cool”, a fun and informative show about climate change.
Based on the success of this pilot program, the TravelSmart team will to continue to work with additional schools during the 2011-2012 school year.
