The Link Between Obesity and Driving

It's a straight forward connection - the more time you spend in a car, the less time you spend being active.

This infographic called Driving is Why You're Fat by GOOD and Hyperakt combined data regarding rates of obesity, and transportation mode choices including transit, walking and cycling for each of America's States.

What would you predict would be the results of a similar analysis on transportation usage and obesity in Canada? Canada's own rates of activity, particularly amongst school aged children and youth are disturbingly low.

We're lucky to live in a city with such a temperate climate. What might other factors, such as temperature, impact on the usage of modes of transportation across Canada?
