Trip Planning Tools
Where are you going? How are you going to get there? How long will it take? Can you get a tall latté and muffin on the way? Use these resources below and all your questions will be answered.

  • Use our TravelSmart map to help you pinpoint your destinations and view nearby amenities such as transit hubs, shops and community centres.
  • TransLink's Trip Planner tool will give you transit route options between the two addresses you input. You can even specify the time of day you'll be travelling and view detailed maps of the routes.
  • Google Transit is an alternative planning tool that also supports information from TransLink, so you can plan your trip getting directions for transit, driving and walking.
  • The Next Bus tool will tell you when the next six buses are scheduled to arrive at any given stop. Simply text the five-digit stop number to 33333. Don't know your stop number? Next Bus also has a Stop Lookup tool.
  • Our mobile TransLink site can provide you with tools on the go. Find schedule information, use Next Bus, or plan a trip with the mobile Trip Planner.
  • Use an online carbon footprint calculator to see just how big of an impact your travel choices have and how many GHGs you're saving (or emitting) with each trip.

Additional Resources

  • Did you know you might qualify for a federal tax credit for your public transit fare?
  • Read TransLink's environmental policy and learn how it's working with individuals and communities to help reach target goals in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Read TransLink's emissions policy and learn how it's committed to the reduction of impacts from vehicle emissions.
  • Read about the federal government's policies on climate change.
  • For information about transit that lies beyond Metro Vancouver, visit BC Transit.

Do you have a story or tip to add about taking transit or using any of the above resources? Add a comment below to tell us about your experience or post a question to start a conversation with other users.
