CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter - and there were many of you! The entries ranged from heart felt and sweet, to humourous, to down right scary!

Big congratulations to the following winners:

First prize: Tracey Mallinson and her HOV-er craft Heros, winners of $1000 in fuel from Chevron

Second prize: Christie Goode and her fellow carpoolers, winners of annual parking pass from EasyPark worth $5000

Third prize: Michael McGreer and his entertaining team of story tellers, BC Ferries rount trip passes, valued at $300

Thanks again for your interest in the contest, on behalf of Metro Vancouver residents, everyone who carpools is a hero!

People who choose to carpool ease traffic congestion, reduce green house gas emissions and contribute to making our region a healthier and happier place to live.

At TravelSmart, we believe that people who carpool are super heroes.

And as for the perks of saving money and getting there faster using the HOV lanes? It makes carpooling one of the most heroic things you can do before 9 a.m.

Know a carpool hero?

Tell us what makes them great and you could win $1000 in fuel from Chevron, a year round parking pass from EasyPark valued at $5000 or 2 BC Ferries round trip passes for car/driver & passenger, (valued at approximately $300).

Simply tell us in 200 words (or less) why your carpool rocks.

Did your driver once surprise you with a coffee? Make you laugh? Leave you in peace with your own thoughts? We want to hear about it. To enter, send your words to carpoolhero@travelsmart.ca.

For additional entries, email us a photo of your carpool group, tweet #carpoolhero or post your entry on the TravelSmart Facebook page. Contest closes October 31, 2011. Find matches at www.Ride-Share.com.

We thank our sponsors ICBC, Chevron, EasyPark, Blenz and BC Ferries.
