Transportation Management Associations
A Transportation Management Association (TMA) is a partnership of private and/or public entities that work together to address local transportation challenges. Their activities can be as a lobby for improved travel options, and/or a deliverer of services, information and encouragement.
Today, TravelSmart provides ongoing support for TMA’s in the Glenlyon business park (Burnaby) and Tilbury industrial area (Delta), working together to address congestion, parking and transportation access issues.
In some parts of Metro Vancouver, companies have joined with other businesses in their area to set up an on-line ridematching service for employees in the area, lobby for better bike lanes, better street lighting, and transit service, or to offer an employer-provided shuttle bus service.
