To encourage staff and lawyers to find alternatives to driving into work, Davis provides bicycle racks, showers and locker facilities for those who choose to cycle; they're registered with a ride-share website program so employees can organize carpools; they also encourage taking public transit by subsidizing transit passes and participating in the Employer Pass Program; and they support diverse working arrangements such as flex time and telework, so lawyers can work from home.

With a dedicated Environmental Sustainability Task Force, Davis takes eco issues seriously. In 2009, they participated in the Metro Vancouver Commuter Challenge. During that week, 111 lawyers and staff members commuted to work by walking, cycling, ride-sharing or taking transit. And for their efforts, they collectively burned 29,221 calories and reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by 3081.62 kilograms.
Taking their commitment to TravelSmart, health and the environment to heart, they even try to include their clients in their efforts. For the past few years, Davis has organized client bike trips, where Davis lawyers and clients spend an afternoon together, away from the boardrooms to enjoy the gorgeous Vancouver outdoors, sustainably. Not only does this offer a fun, unique client-lawyer outing, but it also provides the many benefits of being active, including getting fresh air, exercise, and a boost of endorphins for all!
